On arrival at the prison, you should make your way to the Visitors Centre, where staff will assist you with any problems and give guidance on the visits procedure. The Visitors Centre provides facilities for families and friends of prisoners to refresh themselves following their journeys and prior to the commencement of the visit.

Personal belongings must be deposited in the storage boxes at the Visitors Centre. These are lockable and you should retain the key during your visit. Padlocks for the boxes cost £5 which will be given back to you when you return the padlock to the Visits Centre staff. It is essential that the padlocks are returned to the Visitors Centre staff to avoid any hold ups and allow all boxes to be used.
